Here is another black and white to color study I just finished up. Hope you enjoy :)

Used various techniques in photoshop to acquire final image.

Artwork Dump!

Here are a few personal projects to expand expertise and understanding of digital painting in photoshop. Some are reposts, this is more of a showcase of a few of my studies :)
Not responsible for original images, these are paintings I have done that are replicas of artwork that have inspired me. (except the bananapus, my weird brain came up with that one)

PCC2 Styleframe

Here is the styleframe concept for PCC2. I will be posting the finals of PCC1, 2, and 3 when I have completed my demo reel. Only 1 more month left of school, so excited!

PCC3 Styleframes

Here is the lay out of a concept Im doing for my PCC3 class (with and without the cave). Hopefully i'll be finished with it soon and will be able to post the final product :)

Practice, Practice, Practice!

So its been way to long since my last update. But heres a little side project I started to take a break from finals. I recently downloaded some brushes to help me accomplish the complexity of skin texture, can't wait to use them!

There are still a lot of fine details I will be adjusting with the hair/skin, and obviously the face/shirt needs to be painted :P But here it is so far! About 2 hours of work so far

Morgan Freeman Update

Here is an update that I've decided to share to show how far along I am in this portrait. This is more of just a side project that I like to work on when im feeling creative during my free time. I have had a few suggested critiques about the blurriness of the details and plan to sharpen is features after I finished the main rendering process. I appreciate any comments/critiques you may have to add! Its always very magical to be able to see a project begin to come together. This is my first digital painting of a human and I have learned so many ways and techniques that I can use in my future paintings. I am beyond excited to see the final result :D

Advanced Compositing - 20 min speed paintings

For advanced compositing (aka CSF) we got the pleasure of getting to do a few 20 min speed paintings at the beginning of class through out the month. Here are a few examples of my work ^-^ I was a bit rusty, so dont judge....ha

STE Storyboards

This month I'm taking STE (software technologies). We chose a few group members to create an animated short using any software of our choice except Maya. These are the storyboards I drew up for our short. The animation will be having the song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" playing softly in the background along with gun fire and our russian hero singing along.

Speed Painting-Having Fun

I was having trouble sleeping tonight, so I decided to mess around with photoshop a bit. I was just having fun with colors really, wasn't shooting for a particular look.
Paint time: 20 minutes

Morgan Freeman-progress report

Here is a progress report on the digital portrait I started a few months ago of Morgan Freeman. I hope to finish within a few months. Stay tuned! ;D

Morgan Freeman - Progress

So I have done a few environmental paintings, but never a human. Who better to start with than Morgan Freeman himself? (hopefully it will turn out lol) Started this a few months ago, but have been lazy about updating my blog. I have been working on it off and on for the past few months in my free time. I look forward to completing it :)

ACG Final

ACG (art creation for games) was an incredibly fun class. It really tempted me to stay in the Game Art program vs switching into Computer Animation. We had to build our own cambodian temple environment, literally from scratch. It was a combination of 4 programs that we were able to use, Maya (base modeling), Zbrush (high res modeling), Photoshop (model textures), and UDK (creating the level itself). It was truly amazing to be able to create your own environment, see it come to life, and even go as far as to play in it.

CRI Final Presentation

I had heard a lot of intimidating rumors about this class, conveniently named CRI (character rigging). So I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous in the beginning. Turns out that it was actually pretty fun. I enjoy a heavy, fast paced work load. I had to team up with a partner, which ended up being a very close friend of mine, Kathryn Fay. We came up with a short story and had to start from scratch to present this in a story type of mode. Kathryn modeled the environments and rigged/posed Adventure Girl. I was responsible for the lighting/texturing of all the scenery as well with combing her poses with the scenes and my character, Dr. Bloopdool, which I rigged/posed. All in all, it was a blast :D

PRM Final

Been a while since my last blog post, time to upload tons of things I've been lazy about updating lol. But anyway, this was the final for my Production Modeling class a few months ago. It was my first experience with Z-brush, which turned out to be a pretty fun program. The mouth is posed in an awkward fish position, I didn't realize we were allowed to use blend shapes until it was too late, but oh well. :) Also: making hair is maya is incredibly fun
